What is the role of the scientist (compared to other modern day roles that carry direct analogies to the past)?
...such as, doctors and nurses were like the village high priestesses way back then.
Material capitalists are like the Catholic Church in that they have something society values and cedes power to...football players are like saints adding value to an organization of material capitalists based on their unique, individual performance...
Or how about the uniform attire Mecca attendees wear as part of the many rituals they adhere to while listening to holified spoken words through speaker phones?
While going to a large community gathering around hot air balloons and fireworks, I noticed that the rise of attention and complete adherence to the pledge of allegiance blown through the speakerphone along with everyone dressed uniformly like their favorite TV or music icon, sponsored by many different companies competing and marketing their value was no different than the ceremonies one witnesses at Mecca with competing factions--albeit discreetly--recruiting those who would value their (sometimes extreme) interpretation of the Koran...or in the Western contemporary case, companies compete over your value of the dollar.
Are scientists responsible for unlocking new realities by identifying recurring, observable patterns?
Since innovative technology is followed by capitalists, are scientists the modern day high-seas explorers sponsored by ambitious valued peoples seeking new grounds for their 'empire' in the old world to take advantage of by proxy?
Protestants abiding by Catholic rule didn't see the moral difference between the Word and the words man had preached...eventually, the differences were outlined, as it should be identified in today's society.
The idol worship of the almighty dollar and what it can gain you if you live among others who worship your ideas...
...whether one joins a powerful security force--America's first soldiers didn't volunteer for free since they benefited from the reward of acres of land--is comparable to those who die for a none material reward pushed by many religions highlighted 'today' mostly by Muslim extremism.
If you look deeper, time is not money, money is time. Time spent (and the material gains the passage of time allows) is something you can not gain back; that is why it is nice to pay those to spend their time doing things that would otherwise bring down your quality of life (since you'd end up working a farm instead of eating the food you buy out the grocery store).
Answer :
Comparing the American pledge of allegiance respect to what is done by Muslims in Mecca is absurd. You are comparing respect given to the fallen of a nation that freed most of world with the superstitious mandatory worship of idols like that idiotic worship of a meteor by a religion that was backward in the 14th century. Scientists that don't recognize obvious realities aren't at all useful in the real world.
